I didn’t have to do the deed myself, but I had to hold a mouse still while a biologist snipped its eyelids off with a glorified fingernail clipper. I was studying image processing at the time and we were researching a camera that could detect glaucoma. The mice had to be awake for the test to be valid, I guess. I got my name on a paper for that research for focusing the camera and holding the mouse still. And all it cost me was a few horrifying memories!

I remember the biologist laughed at me when I asked about the long-term effects of removing the mouse’s eyelids. “We euthanize them right after this.” Oh... of course...

I always get sick from vaccines. And I’m not saying that in an anti-vax, MMR gives you autism kind of way, just a day or two of utter misery. Flu shot is better than tetanus at least.

Y our dentist is u nbelievable!! T hey should be slapped around a bit.

I had several dentists in Milwaukee and they were sooo good about painless injections I thought all dentists were trained that way now.

The dentist I got here i s NOT painless. I made a few comments about that and that my previous dentists had a painless technique. She wasn’t interested and I’m now looking for a new dentist.

I got the flu 15 years ago and for a week, I felt that it would be much easier just to die. I get the flu shot every year now!

I’m lucky, I’ve never gotten sick from a vaccine. This was the first time I’d had any lasting pain from a shot. But it was pretty bad.

It’s not about protecting ferrets. It’s about protecting humans. Ferrets and the like are susceptible to the virus, and can then transmit it to humans. Denmark is slaughtering something like 10M minks because they can carry a mutated form of the virus that could possible transfer to humans. It’s already happened, actually.
